BA refers to technologies, applications, skills and practices for the investigation of past business performance to improve insight into this past performance. BA is much more than merely providing simple data to a business or economies. By using BA tools, meaning can be found in data which results in a business improving its business intelligence. Some examples of Business Analytics include statistical analysis, decision processes, web analytics etc. The intersection of statistically based insight and the realization that information can be an asset has had and will continue to have serious reverberations in the business world, societies and economies. Being smarter has always meant being successful; as far back as the 19th century, analytics was already generating competitive advantage. Success requires more than just knowledge of statistics or ways of dealing with “big data.” Execution is essential, but without a plan and commitment, little happens. Success also requires an understanding of how analytics translates to competitive advantage. Business analytics, or BA, is an important component of most successful modern businesses and economies. However, the definition of this term can be rather ambiguous, and is constantly changing. In a nutshell, BA can be defined as a set of applications, practices, skills and technologies designed for investigating and analyzing business performance in order to achieve more strategic decision making and structuring in the future. Business process analytics is not a universal approach, though. There are many different ways to investigate and analyze business performance in order to restructure processes for more profitable results. And the fact of the matter is that the ways and means of achieving this essential investigation and analysis are not set in stone. So where will BA be in the future, and how will people and organizations use it? Our goal is to clarify these and another questions, through researching of methodologies, models, technologies, and so on, necessaries to understand this field, and diffuse the BA in countries and regions where this science by differents reazons is not developed, specially in underdeveloped countries. The objetive is create human capital on Business Analytics science, in order to achieve better economies and societies.
